Frequent Questions and Answers

1. Is the 6SE7027-2ED84-1HF3 still manufactured by Siemens?

No. This part is discontinued/phased out. Brand-new factory-sealed units are rare and generally sourced from surplus stock, while replacements rely on refurbished units, third-party testing, or specialized industrial repair services.

2. What are the common alternatives if this unit fails?

• Refurbished Units: Available via industrial automation surplus and second-life suppliers (with typical 1- to 2-year warranties).

• Repair Services: Many automation houses offer component-level repair or board refurbishment for the PEU4 module rather than full drive replacement.

• Migration: Because SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES are legacy systems, long-term plant strategies often involve migrating the drive line to modern Siemens SINAMICS series drives, though this requires engineering redesign.

3. Where can I find official documentation or manuals?

Technical documentation, compendiums, and support details for the SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES platform can be accessed via the official Siemens SiePortal product page.
